Rock Crystal & Amethyst Rock description?
can anyone describe what a rock crystal and amethyst rock looks like?
By rock crystal, I assume you mean a quartz crystal. If you get a nice specimen, typically a crystal will have 6 sides, with a terminate (point). And hopefully it'll be mostly clear.
Amethyst is actually the same rock, but with an added ingredient or two. It occurs in shades of purple, from light to very dark. Usually you don't see long crystals, most often you get short crystals, such as lining the inside of a geode.
