Need help finding out what this Vintage Acoustic Guitar is!?
I saw an acoustic guitar in a pawn shop that had a steel rod that ran from the headstock-neck joint at an angle to the body, then ran down the length of the body. The guitar did not have a truss rod, and it also had a square sound hole. It was NOT a classical guitar, as that would explain the absence of a truss rod. The brand was something that started with an "F", but I can't remember what it said. Can anybody help me out with what brand and how old this guitar is? I'm thinking it is probably pre-1950 (truss rods were first used all Gibsons in 1945), but I could be very wrong.
I'm positive it was NOT Fender. But Fischer seems like too short of a name for what I remember seeing on the headstock.
Fender or Fischer?
