How do you get a vintage radio to work while it rains?
I have a vintage radio. It's raining. I tried putting the antennae up...but it isn't picking up anything... my other radio is working though...
It was working this morning. It was perfectly fine. Then it started looking stormy outside and raining...now my radio only plays fzzzfazzz sounds...lol...how can I make it work? I put the antennae up, but its not picking up anything.
There might be something wrong with the radio's tuner being interrupted my magnetic fields. Or it could just be a signal issue.
I don't know the exact age of your radio, but I am going to make an assumption. I am just going to assume that your radio is a AM tube setup (I have many Tube set up AM radios). If this is the case you might have have something interfering with the antenna.
I know on my radio the signal cuts out during storms. This is because radios built way back when do not have a function called Noise Reduction. Noise reduction weeds out the cross interference between stations and week signals. I would wait untill you get a break in the weather and then asses the signal.
